Imagine a class where students work together in a high-tech, interactive space to solve real-world problems using the scientific method. No lectures. No passive learning. That begins to describe what you will experience in the Foundations of Biology course sequence.
Foundations of Biology emphasizes the relationships among biological disciplines, chemistry, and other physical sciences. The innovative courses, designed to spark creativity and critical thinking, put learning squarely in the hands of students working collaboratively to use their collective knowledge to address specific problems. With the introduction of a new science teaching building on the East Bank campus, the course has become a model for teaching across scientific disciplines at the University.
