Community Health Initiative (CHI) Scholarship

The CHI Undergraduate Scholarship supports students who show academic promise and financial need. Undergraduate students must be currently enrolled at the University of Minnesota. Students must demonstrate maturity, adaptability, and respect for other cultures. Application materials are due by May 1, 2015 at 11:35 p.m. You can find more information on the application at the CHI Scholarship webpage

Scholarship recipients must also meet the following requirements:

  • Must be enrolled degree-seeking undergraduate students at the University of Minnesota pursuing or on track to pursue a health related major
  • Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.8 or greater and second-year (30 credits or more) or higher
  • Must show financial need
  • Must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents from underrepresented or underserved populations in the health professions and/or have past work and community experiences that demonstrate a commitment to addressing health related disparity issues in underrepresented or underserved populations
  • Must be full-time (13 credits) student
  • Must submit an essay of no more than 500 words about your passion for health care and your plans for utilizing your health-related degree to make a difference for underrepresented or underserved populations
  • Must have a completed FAFSA on file
