Biochemistry alum receives international prize

Biochemistry alum Gregory Pazour (Ph.D. '91) has been awarded the 2015 Lillian Jean Kaplan International Prize for Advancement in the Understanding of Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD). The PKD foundation awards this prize to researchers or medical professionals whose research focuses on treatment and cure of poylcystic kidney disease. The $50,000 prize was presented at the World Congress of Nephrology in Cape Town in March.

Pazour did his graduate work under Professor Anath Das and is currently a professor of molecular medicine at the University of Massachusetts.
