From across the pond, meet the newest addition to the Dean's Office.

Shareina Chandler

What do you do at CBS?

I am an executive office and administrative assistant in the CBS Dean's Office.

How long have you been at the University of Minnesota?

I joined roughly a month ago, so I am really new to the U. Before working here, I was an office manager at a startup in London, so the change of sector and location has been interesting and rewarding.

Can you describe your position a bit?

I do a range of tasks from fielding phone calls (some of which can get pretty bizarre), to assisting in planning events like commencement, to managing the calendars of the associate deans.

What is something interesting or unusual about your work here?

People call the Dean's office regarding the most unusual things. In my short time here I've spoken to someone who wanted to confirm whether or not a rare butterfly in the room of an ill relative was a miracle and a lawyer who wanted to speak with an expert as he was working on a murder investigation.

What do you like to do in your free time?

Reading, writing, hot yoga, weightlifting and cooking.
