CBS People: Tannica Jacobson

This advancement team member connects alumni to the college.

Tannica JacobsonWhat do you do here?
I am the coordinator of alumni relations and development.

How long have you been at the U?
A little over two years.

Describe something interesting or unusual about your work here.
Something that I really enjoy about my work is how diverse it is. Not only do I get to work with alumni and donors, but I get to work with students, faculty and staff. It's so interesting to see all of the wonderful things the CBS community is up to, whether it be faculty and student research or the careers our alums have gone on to pursue. It's amazing, when talking with alumni, to hear about all of the exciting possibilities and opportunities there are out there for our grads.

What do you like to do in your free time?
Well, in my free time during the winter I like to hibernate with the occasional Netflix binge, but when Minnesota is graced with warmer weather I like being outside as much as possible. I enjoy camping, biking, being on or by the water, going up north, traveling and spending time with family and friends. I also recently signed up for a half-marathon, so I will be spending my spring training for that!

How's the marathon training going?
Haha! Well, training is coming along slowly but surely — it's definitely not my favorite thing to do, but I'm trying to stick with the training schedule. It wasn't my idea to sign up. I'm running it with my siblings. It's not really my idea of family bonding, but it inspires some friendly competition.
