Maggie Chan

What did you research?

For my research project, we looked at the regulation of type 1 interferon (INF) production by autoimmune associated PTPn22. This research could help us learn more about systemic lupus erythermatosus (SLE) so we can treat it better.

What did you get out of this experience?

It provided me a great research experience where I got to study the interaction of the interferons and their signaling pathways.

What are your interests outside of school?

I enjoy listening to music, reading, swimming, and ice skating.

Do you participate in any extracurricular activities?

I am the vice president of the Golden Key International Honour Society at the University and I volunteer at American Red Cross

What are you plans for the future?

I plan on going to medical school.
