Unnati Patel, MPH // public health professional // class of 2010

“My vision is to develop a system that will make quality healthcare accessible and affordable for every citizen of this country,” says Unnati Patel (B.S. Biology), whose dedication to improving the system led her to the University of North Texas Health Science Center (UNTHSC), where she earned a Master’s Degree in Public Health, Health Management and Policy last year.

“After my public health training, I was confident enough to face challenges and find solutions to improve the way we provide healthcare in this country,” she says. “I am thankful for the opportunity I was given at UNTHSC to serve as a Research Contract Administrator, and I feel as though the synergy of Biological Science and Health Management has helped me to pursue my dream.”

Patel credits the faculty in CBS for supporting her interest in biological science as an undergraduate. “The education and working experience I received as a CBS student at the University had a tremendous positive effect on my education and career,” she says, adding, “I am committed to using my skills and knowledge to achieve the goal of making UNTHSC one of the top health science centers and a leader in finding the best possible solutions for healthier communities.”

Patel says, “My favorite words to live by are from one of the most influential people in the world, my guru Pramukhswami Maharaj: ‘In the joy of others lies our own.’ Without his blessings and inspiration, I would not be where I stand today.”
