We are happy to announce two new courses that have recently been created specifically for CBS students. These two courses, MATH 1241 and BIOC 2331, teach math and chemistry concepts using applications in the biological sciences. We strongly encourage you to review this website while finalizing your Fall 2012 course selections and contact your academic advisor if you have any questions regarding these courses and how they impact your academic plans.

**MATH 1241: Calculus and Dynamical Systems in Biology:**Differential and integral calculus with biological applications. Discrete and continuous dynamical systems. Models from fields such as ecology and evolution, epidemiology, physiology, genetic networks, neuroscience, and biochemistry.**BIOC 2331: Chemical Mechanisms in Biology:**Students in this course will learn organic structure, properties and chemical mechanism as they apply to biological systems. This theoretical approach is specifically designed to prepare students for subsequent courses in biochemistry. It will empower students to understand and even predict metabolic conversions, biodegradation and other biology-specific aspects of chemistry.
