Dr. Kim's Laboratory Positions Available

Postdoctoral positions available:

Postdoctoral positions are open to recently graduated students. We are looking for highly motivated scholars, whose experience lies in signal transduction, molecular biology and cell biology. Experience in mouse works is not necessary but will be favored in selection. Projects will involve understanding the molecular mechanisms and the roles of mTOR and autophagy, and the cellular mechanisms for the coordinate regulation of protein synthesis and degradation. We apply the basic findings to human diseases such as cancer and diabetes using genetic mouse models. Please contact directly us at dhkim@umn.edu with CV and a cover letter.

Prospective graduate students:

Projects will involve studies on the molecular mechanisms and the roles of mTOR and autophagy, and the cellular mechanism for the coordinate regulation of protein synthesis and degradation for growth and survival. We use biochemistry, molecular biology and cell biology approaches, which involve proteomics and cutting-edge cell imaging techniques. We apply the basic findings to human diseases such as cancer, diabetes and neurodegenerative diseases using genetic mouse models.
