Webinar: Tips and Tricks: Applicant Preparedness for PharmCAS Cycle

Are you planning to apply to pharmacy school during the 2018-2019 admissions cycle? The American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy presents the free webinar 'Tips and Tricks: Applicant Preparedness for PharmCAS Cycle' to help applicants learn how to best navigate the PharmCAS application and avoid common pitfalls. There will be time for an open discussion and questions at the end. Register to virtually attend the webinar on July 12 or check the PharmCAS site to watch the archived webinar.

Optometry Virtual Fair

A free Optometry Virtual Fair hosted by the Association of Schools and Colleges of Optometry will be held on June 12, 2018. Talk with school represtentaitves through live chat, get questions answered and find out which Doctor of Optometry Program is best for you.

Deadlines for Pre-Pharmacy Students

PharmCAS Application: The national pharmacy application service, PharmCAS, is scheduled to open on July 18, 2018 for fall 2019 admission.

Getting Started on Your Fulbright Workshops

The Office of National and International Scholarships will be holding workshops for students who want to write applications for the Fulbright US Student Program over the summer.  The campus deadline for all Fulbright Applications is August 29th, so interested students should learn more before they leave for the break.

The following workshops will take place in the UHP conference room in 390 Northrop:

Alternatives for People with Autism Open House and Hiring Event

Alternatives for People with Autism is hosting a walk-in open house and hiring event this coming Wednesday, April 25 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. This will be a great opportunity for students to see the AFPWA facility and to learn more about and apply for part- and full-time direct care positions. There will also be free food and gift cards giveaways!

Applying to Graduate School 101: Becoming a Competitive Applicant

Applying to graduate school in fall 2018 or want to learn more about applying to Master or Ph.D. programs in the life sciences? Join CBS Undergraduate Research Coordinator Dr. Jacob Moore to learn what programs are looking for in an applicant as well as the qualities of a strong application. Information about the application timeline will also be discussed.

Medical School Application Bootcamp

CBS students applying to medical school programs during the summer of 2018 are invited to attend this application workshop on Monday, May 14! This interactive workshop will include an overview of the medical school admissions process, a presentation about the holistic review process from the U of M Medical School, a panel of CBS alumni currently in medical school, an opportunity for a mock interview practice in traditional and MMI styles, and other activities related to preparing a competitive application for medical school.

Genetics, Cell Biology and Development Major Workshop

All CBS students are invited to attend the upcoming Genetics, Cell Biology and Development Major Workshop on April 9. Attendees will hear from the Director of Undergraduate Studies in Gentics, Cell Biology, and Development and an academic advisor to learn about upper division electives, course planning, careers, and research in GCD.
