Here you will find a collection of resources and opportunities for CBS students seeking scholarship and financial aid.

Katherine Sullivan Scholarship Open

The Katherine E. Sullivan Scholarship supports a full year of study abroad for students who will have completed at least 120 credits of academic work by the end of the spring semester 2017 and will have finished all graduation requirements by the end of the proposed study abroad experience.  Students who are in their third year of undergraduate education are especially encouraged to apply.

Dr. Nancy Foster Scholarship Program

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) Dr. Nancy Foster Scholarship Program provides support for master's and doctoral studies in oceanography, marine biology, maritime archaeology and all other science, engineering, social science and resource management disciplines involving ocean and coastal areas, particularly by women and members of minority groups.

Community Health Initiative Undergraduate Scholarship

The CHI Undergraduate Scholarship, sponsored by the Office for Business & Community Economic Development (BCED) with funding from Medica, supports full-time undergraduate students who are pursuing a health related career and who show academic promise and financial need. Students must be currently enrolled at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities Campus and must demonstrate maturity, adaptability, and respect for diversity and other cultures.

2016-17 LGBTQIA+ Student Scholarship Award

Founded in 1998 by University of Minnesota alumni, faculty, and staff, the U of M GLBT Student Scholarship Fund (as it was called when it was founded) awarded two $500 GLBT Student Scholarships initially. This year, the GLBTA Programs Office will be awarding one or more $1,000 LGBTQIA+* Student Scholarships. Check out their website for more information and to apply. 

Goldwater and Truman Scholarship Applications Open

The University of Minnesota will nominate up to four sophomores or juniors interested in research careers and majoring in math, science, or engineering for nationally competitive Goldwater Scholarships ($7500 per year for undergraduate education).  Information sessions will be held on October 21 at 3 p.m. and October 22 at 12 p.m.

Rosenberg Application Open

Applications are now being accepted for the Murray and Pearl Rosenberg Memorial Award. This award was established by Pearl Rosenberg, psychologist and former assistant dean of the University of Minnesota Medical School, in honor of her husband Murray Rosenberg, a physician and professor of genetics and cell biology from 1963 - 93 and an advocate for human rights.
