Data Center Outage in January

On January 9-10, 2016, the Office of Information Technology has a planned IT service interruption. Maintenance of the primary data center and its related service interruption is set to begin at 6 a.m. Saturday, January 9. It is expected that all affected services will be restored by noon Sunday, January 10.

This annual event is critical to the maintenance, testing and repair of facility infrastructure, and requires a complete shutdown of the main data center.

Biology Teaching and Learning Debuts New Space

The department looks to spark collaboration with a new office for faculty and staff based on open-concept workspace.

With the recent launch of BTL Commons in Moos Tower, the Department of Biology Teaching and Learning hopes to build connections and promote collaboration among faculty and staff in their daily work. The new department home features open, accessible, flexible work spaces, lots of glass and natural light.

I'm a principal administrative specialist in the Department of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Biophysics. 

How long have you been at the U?

I started here as student five years ago, but I've worked in CBS for three years.

Minnesota College Personnel Association names Aya Maruyama New Professional of the Year.

The Minnesota College Personnel Association recently named CBS academic advisor Aya Maruyama New Professional of the Year for 2015. This award honors early-career professionals in the field who provide outstanding service to their institution.

Each year, CBS honors staff for excellence in work at both the administrative, as well as technical and faculty support levels. Recipients are nominated for going above and beyond to achieve excellence.
