Be The Match Site Visit

Interested in medical research, specifically transplant science? Join other CBS students at a site visit to Be the MatchⓇ, a global leader in bone marrow transplantation. For the past 25 years, Be the Match, operated by the National Marrow Donor ProgramⓇ (NMDP), has managed the largest and most diverse marrow registry in the world. Individuals work along all stages of the transplant process, including conducting scientific research to better understand the immunological and cellular basis of transplant science, implementing bioinformatic techniques to optimize matches between donors and recipients, and providing individualized patient counseling and support.

During the site visit, you will hear directly from Be the Match employees about the company, their careers and backgrounds, and current volunteer, internship, and employment opportunities at Be the Match. Presentations will also include:

  • Bioinformatics: What We Do
  • Donor Services: Pathway from Joining the Registry to Donation
  • Center for International Blood and Marrow Transplant Research: An Overview
