BTL Undergraduate Teaching Assistant Positions Open

The Department of Biology Teaching and Learning has approximately 10 open positions of Undergraduate Teaching Assistant for Biology 1001,1003 or 1009 in the Spring 2016 semester.  The essential qualifications for these positions are advanced undergraduate standing (junior or senior carrying at least six credits) and completion of at least Biol 2002 (or equivalent).  Successful candidates typically have more experience in biology through additional coursework, jobs, or research.

Depending on scheduling, T.A.s will teach either Biol 1001, 1003 or 1009 where they will lead two laboratory sections.  The sections are each two hours long.

The pay is $11.03 per hour with the expectation that T.A.s would work 8 - 12 hours per week, on average, with some weeks being slightly heavier and some slightly lighter loads.  Training occurs the week before the semester begins: Thursday January 14, 2016. You must be back on campus in time to attend this training. There are also weekly meetings for the courses on Monday or Friday afternoon (depending on the course that you are selected to teach), which you would be required to attend.  There will be some flexibility in the scheduling of these weekly meetings and we will work with TA schedules to best accommodate all.
