Connectedness and Complexity: Bridging Mental Health and Identity

It is time for the third part of the Identity Dialogue Series hosted by the Human Rights Team! Connectedness and Complexity: Bridging Mental Health and Identity will be held on April 20 at 5:30 p.m. at University YMCA on 1801 University Ave. across from the Recreation Center.

In this upcoming portion of the Identity Dialogue Series, Janelle Jones, a Yale and Johns Hopkins educated Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from Boynton, will be lead a discussion on mental health in marginalized and POC (people of color) communities. Issues such as the co-occurrence of other identities when it comes to mental health as well as stigmatization and lack of mental health awareness in communities will be discussed.

Through activities and reflection, participants will have a chance to look deeper at mental health and wellness and how it influences us in our daily lives and effects our communities.
