Creating a welcoming and inclusive environment in CBS requires everyone's involvement, and peer-to-peer interaction has some of the greatest impact on students' experiences while in college. For this reason, it is essential that every student does their part to foster a community that is welcoming and affirming to all of the individuals and identities that exist within our college.
In this interactive session, faculty and staff will come together to facilitate a discussion on how to create the community we desire through continued self work, international peer interaction, and fostering a support culture within the College. You will take time to understand how to be aware of your own biases and recognize microaggressions when they occur. Through case studies you will also have an opportunity to explore how to apply what we discuss scenarios that could arise in a classroom setting.
The event is a collaboration between CBS Student Services and the Department of Biology, Teaching and Learning.
