Worried about water pollution and climate change? Want to learn more about sustainable agriculture? Looking to get involved with an environmental nonprofit? Mighty Earth Twin Cities has volunteer and internship opportunities this spring!
Mighty Earth is looking for motivated students to join an exciting campaign for clean water and sustainable agriculture! Past campaign experience is not required, but volunteers must be ready to learn new skills and spread the word about this issue.
Location: Most campaign events will be in Minneapolis.
Hours: Mighty Earth is looking to bring on interns and volunteers immediately, to work through April/May. Interns should be able to spend about 8-10 hours per week working on the campaign, volunteers can contribute as much time as they're able! Schedules are flexible around class and work!
The issue: Big, industrialized agriculture is a leading cause of water pollution, deforestation, and climate change domestically and abroad. To build a food system that works better for people and our planet, the companies that produce our food need to be held accountable to end water pollution and deforestation.
Mighty Earth is calling on Cargill to uphold their commitments to sustainability. At the 2014 United Nations Climate Summit, Cargill pledged to eliminate deforestation from its supply chain by 2020, but the company is not on track to keep that promise.
Mighty Earth is building a grassroots movement by organizing key stakeholders, generating media attention, and demonstrating broad public support toward Cargill keeping their sustainability promises.
