The University of Minnesota Libraries will be broadcasting the NCBI (National Center for Biotechnology Information) Discovery Workshops being held at the University of Michigan on Thursday, October 11 and Friday, October 12, 2012. The NCBI Discovery Workshops consist of four 2.5-hour hands-on sessions led by NCBI scientists, each emphasizing different sets of NCBI resources by means of specific examples. Detailed handouts will walk participants through common tasks using the resources and tools and demonstrate important features. Attendees are expected to bring their own laptops to work on individual practice problems. You may attend all or any combination of the four sessions at one of two locations, Walter Library on the East Bank or Magrath Library in St. Paul. Please register by Wednesday, October 10 by selecting the sessions you plan to attend below. NOTE: Attendees must be at their computers by half an hour before the beginning of each session.
