Position with City Year

City Year believes education has the power to help every child reach his or her potential. Working to bridge the gap between the support that students actually need and what schools are designed to provide, City Year AmeriCorps members work in under-resourced schools across 28 cities to identify students who are at risk of not graduating on time with their peers. City Year AmeriCorps members work full-time for 11 months, striving to make a lasting impact on students’ lives and ultimately increase the graduation rate by providing students with extra academic, emotional, and social support. As a City Year AmeriCorps member, you’ll be a tutor, mentor and role model for students who need it most. City Year AmeriCorps members receive a bi-weekly stipend, free transportation pass, uniform parts provided and a Segal Education Award of $5,815 at the end of the term of service. This Education Award may be applied to student loans or graduate school tuition. City Year partners with over 100 universities across the nation that match the Education Award and potentially provide even more scholarship funding. Considering doing a gap year? Consider serving with City Year. The upcoming deadline is April 30 with a start date in late July. There is an April early review deadline of March 31.  GoldPass Job Id: 191372
