Research Opportunity in the Knights Lab

The Knights Lab is offering opportunities for research volunteers to assist in various laboratory duties and data collection. The research is related to identifying biomarkers from the human microbiome for gastrointestinal disease and designing novel therapeutic intervention techniques. The duties of the volunteers will be with preparing Next Generation Sequencing data collection kits, collecting clinical samples and processing samples for DNA and RNA sequencing. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in developing skills in the research lab, getting hands-on experience in a genomics study, and to explore concepts in precision medicine in the microbiome. Students should expect to commit about ~2 hours per week. Interested applicants can send a short statement explaining their interest in the position and a resume or CV to Tonya Ward at tward@umn.edu. If you would like more information about the lab, visit the Knights Lab website at http://www.knightslab.org/.
