As the semester comes to an end many of you are getting ready to apply to health professional programs. The CBS Career Team recognizes you all have received a vast amount of information over the last couple of months applicable to several aspects of life, but many of you still have questions about how COVID-19 will affect your application cycle. We have curated a list of resources for you, which we hope will provide you with answers, comfort, and confidence moving forward. If you’d like additional assistance, schedule an appointment with a career coach. Individual program policies vary, and information is changing rapidly, so it is always a good idea to inquire with specific schools and programs by looking at their websites and/or reaching out to admissions representatives for a particular program. You can use the resources below for updated information about changes in application policies and timelines (i.e. delaying transmission of information to schools, requiring official vs unofficial transcripts, etc.), re-opening of testing centers and changes in score reporting timelines, and any new updates programs are considering that have yet to be announced.

Application: AMCAS COVID-19 FAQ

Currently, we know that AMCAS is planning to delay delivery of applications to medical schools by two weeks. This means you will receive secondary applications a couple weeks later than expected, and this change might have an affect on the timeline for interview offers.
We also know the MCAT registration page has been down for a few weeks, but it is currently scheduled to be back up on May 7th. Due to a delay in testing and score reporting, some schools will be extending secondary applications and interview offers to students without seeing an MCAT score.
As always, schools of interest are going to have the most updated, specific, and relevant information, so reach out to them with any questions.
