BEFORE YOU GO
Review the list of programs attending z.umn.edu/lifesciencesgradschoolfairlist
Identify the programs you would like to speak with during the fair and confirm you have allocated enough time for each conversation (5-10 minutes per table)
DO YOUR RESEARCH
Visit school and department websites for the programs you would like to speak with at the fair. Write down things that give you a sense of what the program is like, or unique opportunities they offer such as fellowships, internships or teaching assistantships.
Pay attention to questions you have as you review the website. What opportunities do you want to know more about, or what do you need clarified in terms of the application process?
Write down those questions, and bring them with you so you can hear the answers straight from the program!
Identify the programs you would like to prioritize, and consider ranking the order in which you will meet with those programs. Consider waiting to visit your top choice or choices after meeting with one to two other programs to feel more prepared.
SHOULD I BRING A RESUME/C.V?
Need someone to take a quick look at your résumé? The CBS Career Team invites you to stop by their 15 minute express résumé review drop-in on Monday, September 18. They can quickly review your résumé and give feedback and tips for navigating any upcoming fairs you may be attending! Registration is not required.
Non-CBS students may refer to their college specific Resume Drop In Hours.
