CBS academic advisor Kristin Economos recently received the Outstanding New Advisor award from the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA). The award honors advisors who have worked in the field three years or less and demonstrate excellence. Economos is one of 14 advisors nationwide to receive the award this year.
“Kristin is one of those outstanding staff members with a skill level beyond her experience,” says Nikki Letawsky Shultz, assistant dean for Student Affairs and International Programs and director of CBS Student Services. “She has a genuine concern for each of her students as individuals and is committed to helping them in their educational and personal growth.”
Economos advises students, coordinates the first-year orientation program for CBS, teaches a course in the Dean’s Scholars program, and developed and leads the Peer Advising program in the college. She also contributes to numerous programs both inside and outside CBS related to student living, academic advising appointment curriculum and orientation for new students.
