For the second year, bison have returned to Cedar Creek Ecosystem Science Reserve as part of a long-term project to observe the impact of these mammals on the oak savanna ecosystem. You can read more about the bison research happening at the field station on Cedar Creek's Website.
While part of a longer-term research project, members of the public can also come take in the bison herd at Cedar Creek at its bison viewing gazebo during summer 2019! The gazebo is open Saturdays from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. through the end of August 2019! For safety and security reasons, the bison gazebo and extension trail are closed at all other times, including during the week. Learn more about the research and how to visit Cedar Creek on the field station's event website.
