Community-driven participatory research lecture with Dr. Crystal Lumpkins

Join Dr. Crystal Lumpkins, an expert on community-driven participatory research in genetic counseling, for a guest lecture this Friday, October 21. Participants can join in person at 3-120 Molecular Cellular Biology or virtually via Zoom.

Dr. Lumpkins is an associate professor in the Department of Communication at the University of Utah and cancer communication researcher within the Population Sciences Division at the Huntsman Cancer Institute in Salt Lake City, Utah. Dr. Lumpkins’ current and primary research interests are in evidence-based public health communication, cancer-related genetic counseling and testing risk communication and implementation science targeted to racial/ethnic minority populations.

The event was organized by the Genetic Counseling program and funded through the college’s DEIJ microgrant program.
