Two tenure-track positions in the Department of Plant and Microbial Biology

Then we want to hear from you. The College of Biological Sciences (CBS) at the University of Minnesota (UMN) is hiring two tenure-track assistant professor or associate professors in the Department of Plant and Microbial Biology.  New technologies and approaches provide unprecedented opportunities to link fundamental properties of plants at the molecular, cellular or tissue levels to phenotype. We seek creative and collaborative plant biologists who utilize approaches such as biochemistry, cell biology, genetics, physiology or systems biology to discover novel facets of fundamental processes in plants.  Successful candidates require:

  • Ph.D. (or foreign equivalent) in an appropriate discipline
  • Strong publication record in disciplines related to the position
  • Evidence of potential to initiate and sustain extramurally funded research
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in communicating with multiple audiences
  • Evidence of commitment to equity and diversity

Positions are nine-month appointments starting the fall of 2018. Major responsibilities include varying levels of teaching, research, and service to the University, depending on the position.
