InSciEd Out will be hosting a "speed-dating” event in which teachers meet informally with scientists to hear about the kind of work you all do. This event will be held Tuesday, August 4 from 12:15 to 2:15 p.m. in room 114 in Bruininks Hall (STSS). The goal of the event is to provide the teachers with an opportunity to sit down and converse with scientists of different backgrounds. This is important in giving a snapshot of the wide variety of scientific expertise and is more focused on letting them know who you are, why you do your science, and what your role is in science. InSciEd Out would love to have you there for the entire time, but can work in 1-hour shifts as well if that fits your schedule better.
This year, InSciEd Out will host nearly 50 teachers from around the Twin Cities. If you are interested in either of these opportunities (or would like to hear more about InSciEd Out and future opportunities for involvement) please contact Seth Thompson (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Felicia Wagner (email@example.com) with your availability.
