I completed my Bachelor of Arts in English and Spanish at the University of Iowa. I also completed a Master of Arts in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey.
Life before CBS...
Before joining CBS I worked as a college access advisor and an educator in a number of school systems in California and Minnesota.
Adjusting to college life...
During my freshman year, I lived in a Living Learning Community with students who had similar academic interests, and many of the people I met there became my closest friends. I also had shows on our campus radio station. I had the opportunity to participate in a study abroad program in Spain and a teaching abroad program in Costa Rica, where I discovered my love for working with students. It’s so important to give different things a try during your higher education experience, because you might be able to discover something new about yourself.
Favorite part of the job?
I love working with students! I really enjoy learning about students’ backgrounds, interests, and goals. Every student I’ve ever worked with has taught me something new.
Current passions, hobbies, things that give you joy?
I spend my time practicing yoga, learning ceramics, discovering new coffee shops, watching TV shows, and checking out the amazing park system around the Twin Cities.
