Campus or Community Affiliations
Outside of work, I have gotten involved with Big Brothers Big Sisters. I have been matched with my little sister for about a year and a half now, and some of our favorite outings together have been what I have brought her to spend time on campus. I am also involved with the Fightin' Moose, a team that I play kickball and broomball with!
Before joining CBS...
I originally worked as an engineer at Apple before deciding to make a career change to pursue something that gave me a stronger sense of purpose. I still do some coding for fun, but realized that I can enjoy something without needing to make it my career.
I developed my sense of belonging through my involvement with the Society of Women Engineers (SWE). I went to my first meeting after me roommate's older sister told me that they always had great food at meetings, but ended up loving it. It was through SWE that I learned and grew as a leader, found additional opportunities to give back to the campus community, and built relationships with friends that I am still close with to this day.
What do you like best about your job?
The people. I feel so fortunate to get to come and work with such wonderful people in CBS each and every day. All of the hard work and amazing accomplishments by CBS students inspires me and motivates me each and every day.
What are some of your current passions, activities, hobbies, and/or personal life roles that give you joy?
Outside of work, I spend my free time in a variety of ways. I really enjoy theater and am always looking for an excuse to go to a show! (Note: As students, all of you have access to discounted rush tickets at many of the theaters in the area including national touring shows that come to the Orpheum.) I also really love to bake and share the homemade sweets with friends. When the opportunity exists, I really enjoy traveling and experiencing new places - especially places with cool wildlife! This has led to recently start picking up photography to better document my travels, which is a new and fun challenge.
Be on the lookout for...
Sadie, my pug! When I am in the office you can find photos of her on my calendar, and when working remotely you can often spot her sleeping in the background.
