Bao Lee-Yang, She/Her/Hers
I am a UMN CLA Alum! I came to the U of M with Political Science in mind with hopes to attend Law School. Shortly, after taking a Political Science course, I learned that it was not a good fit. With the help of my amazing Academic Advisor, I learned about Sociology of Law, Criminology, and Deviance. I absolutely fell in love with the major. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology of Law, Criminology, and Deviance and a minor in Asian American Studies. I earned my Masters of Arts in Leadership and Management from Concordia University- St. Paul.
Adjusting to college life
As a first gen student, I wasn't sure what to expect in my first year. It was challenging and exciting all together. The best thing that I did in my first year was putting myself out there and connecting with others who were different from me. I pushed myself to get out of my comfort zone and it truly helped me to make friends and to find my sense of belonging on such a large campus.

I get to work with amazing students who wants to achieve their goals and dreams and to change the world. I get to go on this journey and adventure with students and get to witness their growth from beginning to end. Every day is a different day; it's never the same.
