Forest Clarke

Assistant Director for Career Development

I attended Iowa State University for both my undergraduate and graduate studies.  Although I started out as a Cyclone, I am overjoyed to be a Gopher!

Life before CBS…
Before moving to Minnesota I lived in 6 other states in the US.  I have worked in Housing & Residence Life, Academic Advising, and Career Development throughout my student services journey.

Adjusting to college life…
I went from a very small place (high school graduating class of 65) to a much bigger place (university of 30,000 students).  I had classes that were large enough my entire school could have fit in them!  I got connected and found my place by joining the LGBTQIA+student group, as well as a gaming club. Through those connections I was able to navigate the great successes and challenges during college!

Favorite part of the job?
I love helping people find their path in life!  I am always interested in helping people tell their story (and figure out what they want that story to be about).

Current passions, hobbies, things that give you joy?
Reading will always be my top hobby (so if you have any recommendations, send them my way)!  Video games will always have my attention.  I also enjoy volunteering for organizations that focus on improving life for LGBTQIA+ people.

Be on the lookout for...
The books stacked next to my computer.  When I need a break from work during the day, I always have the book I can't put down sitting next to me, for easy access.  I'll always be excited to talk about that!
