I attended Lawrence University (Appleton, WI) for undergrad and the University of Chicago (Chicago, IL) for graduate school. In undergrad, I majored in Psychology and minored in Gender Studies. I have my graduate degree in Social Work.
Life Before CBS?
I've spent the majority of my career working in Residence Life (at St. Norbert College, University of Chicago, and Santa Clara University). I've also worked with a TRIO Upward Bound Program, which I absolutely loved!
Adjusting to College Life?
My first few months in college were a little bit challenging! I was trying very hard to find my footing academically and find my circle of friends. Ultimately, I got involved in my residence hall's Hall Council and my passion for working in campus life just grew from there. I'm still very good friends with my first college roommate and two other friends that I met in my first year of college!
Favorite Part of the Job?
I love building relationships with students! It's so wonderful to learn about the hopes, dreams, goals and ambitions of CBS students (CBS students really are so interesting)! I also just appreciate hearing how day-to-day life is going for the students I meet.
Current Passions, Hobbies, Things that Give you Joy?
Professionally, I am extremely passionate about basic needs security among students. While at Santa Clara University, I started the campus food pantry as I truly believe students must have their basic needs met in order to be successful socially and in the classroom. Personally, I love crafting (knitting, drawing, painting). Most recently, I took on a project reupholstering my dining room chairs!
Be on the Lookout For?
Door decs! Even though I've transitioned away from living in a residence hall, I've kept a ton of the door decs I received from Resident Assistants over the years.
