Adjusting to college life…
I had a hard time adjusting my first year. I didn't like my science classes and felt like there were no other options out there for me because science and math is what I felt like I had been good at for such a long time. I took a psychology class to fulfill a liberal education requirement and was surprised by how much I liked it. I met with the Director of Undergraduate Studies for the major to learn more about the field and declared my major by the end of our meeting! I also found a sense of belonging by joining a student group who assisted the Admissions Office with large events and through my 3 on campus jobs. Those jobs led me to a career in higher education.

Life after college…
I went straight to graduate school from undergrad, knowing Higher Education was my next step after being exposed to the opportunities through my on campus jobs. I worked in Housing and Residence Life and did an internship with the advising and career center (I also did an internship at Notre Dame and my office paid for me to tour the football stadium!). After graduating, I worked in the College of Design as an Academic Advisor before starting in CBS.

Favorite part of the job?
I love developing tools, resources, events, and workshops for students that help with self-assessment, discovery, and planning next steps. I have always found it really helpful to bring structure to my big ideas, problems, and uncertainty I'm facing, and I love using the things the career team has developed to assist CBS students through their career journey.

Current passions, hobbies, things that give you joy?
I love reading, talking about pop culture, and teaching myself how to write in fancy fonts. When I'm not doing one of those things, I might be hanging out with my sister's dogs, planning my next vacation, or talking to my long distance friends on the phone.

Be on the lookout for…
New office decorations! I'm always hanging up new things that inspire me.
