Life before CBS…
Funny enough, my life before CBS was also in CBS. While I worked at UnitedHealthcare as an interpreter for a bit before starting in Student Services, I actually graduated from CBS myself in 2019. So needless to say, I know this office and campus pretty well from both the perspective of being a staff member and a student.

Adjusting to college life...
I went to a high school that was decently large so I was extremely excited to start at a college that was massive in comparison to what I had experienced before. I was excited about being able to decide how anonymous or known I wanted to be on campus and all of the different opportunities and experiences offered. Large class sizes and not being as familiar with my professors was difficult, but I found balance and support through the challenges by finding my place in communities like Dean’s Scholars, President’s Emerging Scholars and the Vietnamese Student Association at the U.

Favorite part of the job?
Since I am a CBS alumni myself, I get to help students walk through the same paths that I did, but in a way that feels true and unique to themselves. I love getting to know people’s stories, hopes, goals and dreams while also getting to help them reflect and grow along the way.

Current passions, hobbies, things that give you joy?
Hiking, traveling, cooking, reading, horror films, tattoos, new restaurants/breweries/distilleries/coffee shops, kayaking, paddleboarding, and lots more. I like trying new things, so who knows what this list will look like a few months from now!
