Life before CBS…
Before coming to CBS I was finishing grad school. During that time my work was primarily in residential life, but I also worked with students in admissions and in a pre-college program.
Adjusting to college life...
The adjustment to college was a major shift for me, but it set me up to have a great experience over the next few years. I was able to try a ton of new things, and build relationships that have endured long after graduation. I would encourage students to get involved on campus early by exploring both the things that they are passionate about, and some things they have never tried before.
Favorite part of the job?
My favorite part of my work is connecting with our students and helping them create a plan for a successful college experience. I love hearing about students' experiences before coming to CBS and their goals after graduation.
Current passions, hobbies, things that give you joy?
I enjoy woodworking, gardening, and taking on DIY projects around the house (often larger ones than I can handle). I also like to get together with my friends to try out a new place to eat, do trivia, or play Dungeons and Dragons. When I am not doing one of those things I get a lot of joy from coffee, meeting people's pets, and learning new things.
Be on the lookout for...
Evidence of my hobbies and various things to fidget with tend to follow me to work. I also usually have a good fun fact to share related to something I have been learning about.
