Life before CBS…
Before transitioning to CBS, I spent 5 ½ years at St. Catherine University. First as an upper-class residence hall director, and then transitioning to academic advising. I primarily worked with first years, pre-nursing students, and taught a first-year core seminar course.
Adjusting to college life…
When I started college, I was extremely fortunate to move in a week early to start marching band camp. There I was able to get involved with my mellophone section and be involved from the get go! As college went on, I started to get involved with residence life and became a R.A. I also had the privilege of co-coordinating our Civil Rights Pilgrimage and be an active participant of V-Day- the Global Fight to end Violence against Women. Find something you are passionate about or interested in and connect on campus, which is the fastest way to acclimate to your campus community.
Favorite part of the job?
My favorite part of this job is connecting with students and learning their story as they navigate through their educational pursuits. I love the fact I am able to accompany students with their questions or concerns and finding out what is the best path moving forward.
