The NOCC program is supporting transatlantic training of students at the three partner universities through undergraduate student travel awards and travel fellowships for PhD. students and postdocs. The program is also seeking new ideas for transatlantic educational activities & workshop proposals.

Norwegian Centennial Travel Fellowships for Ph.D. students and Postdocs

Travel fellowships of up to $5,000 will be available to graduate students and postdocs to cover some costs associated with transatlantic travel Norway (NMBU, UiO) and Minnesota (UM) for research purposes. Priority will be given for travel that promotes existing collaboration or could lead to new interactions between research groups. Applications will be accepted at any time.

Norwegian Centennial Travel Awards for Study Abroad

A limited number of awards ($1,500) aimed at undergraduate (Bachelor) students planning to study for a semester at a transatlantic partner university (UM, NMBU, UiO) are available. Priority will be given to applicants that justify most clearly how the proposed study abroad (course work) will benefit and enhance their education. Application deadlines: May 15 & November 15

Innovative Ideas for Transatlantic Educational Activities

We are interested in innovative ideas for teaching and learning that would involve the three partner universities. If you have an idea, please submit a brief outline of the activity (e.g. course, summer school, …), objectives, learning outcomes, target student groups and what would be required to implement this activity. We will review your idea and contact you for more details. Applications will be accepted at any time.

Proposals for the Development of Transatlantic Workshops

Transatlantic workshops are intended to facilitate new collaborations in research and education between the three universities. Proposals will be accepted at any time and reviewed on a rolling basis until available funding has been exhausted. If your are considering developing a workshop, please contact us prior to completing the application.
