- UMN Care Team referral — Notify the Care Program about a student about whom you are concerned and who needs a welfare check. The Care Program provides coordinated care, support, and resources to students.
Mental health counseling at UMN
- Boynton Mental Health & Counseling: Phone and walk-in assessment. Scheduled medical evaluations and management, chemical health assessment and counseling, ADHD assessments, and individual, couples, and group therapy.
- Telehealth counseling and psychiatric treatment for students who are located within Minnesota.
- Brief consult mental health appointments are available for online booking through the MyBoynton Patient Portal.
- Urgent counseling services are now accessible through both walk-in and online channels.
- Schedule appointments by calling the clinic at 612-624-1444.
- Students currently in care can contact their providers via the MyBoynton Patient Portal.
- The number of sessions allowed per year will be determined by medical necessity. (No more 10-sessions-per-year limit).
- Let's Talk: Informal, virtual drop-in consultations for UMN students throughout the academic year. No appointment necessary. Counselors can listen to specific problems, provide support, help explore solutions, and give information about other resources.

- Minnesota Warmline: Peer-to-peer approach to mental health recovery, support and wellness. Calls are answered by our team of professionally trained Certified Peer Specialists, who have first-hand experience living with a mental health condition.

Interactive well-being resources
Care Team
- Meet with a Care Manager to get support and resources as you navigate the University and pursue academic and personal goals. Care Managers operate in a non-clinical capacity and do not provide formal counseling or therapy to students.
BIPOC Mental Health Collective
- This is a space designed for Black, Indigenous, Latinx, Middle Eastern and North African (MENA), Desi, Asian, and/or People of Color voices, experiences, and stories. Mixed race, QTIPOC, and trans-racial adopted folks, we see you and welcome you into the space. Our group is open to students (undergraduate and graduate), staff, and faculty of all identities at the University of Minnesota.

- Free virtual drop-in service that offers informal, confidential consultations for U of M students throughout the academic year. No appointment necessary. (Not a substitute for formal counseling and does not constitute mental health treatment, but counselors can listen to specific problems, provide support, explore solutions, and share resources.)

- Academic coaching. Individual appointments are available. Go to appointments to get started. Coaching appointments are 30 minutes long, offered in-person and on Zoom.
Sky Happiness Club at UMN
- A student organization committed to building a violence-free and stress-free campus. The club hosts yoga and meditation sessions, stress busters, SKY happiness retreats, service events, social events, and many more fun events throughout the year.

Nutrition Appointments (Boynton Health Services telehealth)
- Meet with a registered dietitian nutritionist for help setting goals to maintain a healthy diet. Consultations offer information, advice and support to help manage health concerns through nutrition.

- Five online programs based on the proven principles of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Programs are confidential and cover the following topics: social anxiety; depression; insomnia; substance use; and stress, anxiety, and worry. These online programs are available regardless of your location.

Food insecurity
- Nutritious U Food Pantry: Open the last week of every month during the semester (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday), from 12-6 pm on the 2nd floor of Memorial Union (Room 210).
- Hunger Solutions: Find food shelves and other resources to get assistance meeting food needs.
- Free groceries & household items available to any University of Minnesota student and their families.

Student emergency funds
- Assistance for student with an acute financial emergency. Awards range from $50-$1,000.
- Certified financial wellness counselors who are part of One Stop Student Services are available to help. Whether teaching money management, or answering questions about loans, they have a wealth of knowledge for UMN students.
- Emergency Funds can provide financial assistance for degree-seeking international students enrolled at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities who have experienced financial challenges due to unforeseen circumstances. Depending on a student’s situation and need, Academic Financial Support can help with tuition, fees, and insurance costs.

Student Conflict Resolution Center
- The SCRC assists students in resolving campus-based problems or concerns. They provide confidential, impartial, and informal options for resolving conflicts in a fair manner.

- The OCR provides formal and informal conflict resolution services through consultations, facilitated dialogues, mediation and formal dispute resolution.

- The OCS handles reports of concerning behavior, from scholastic dishonesty to other violations of the Student Conduct Code. Any concerning behavior that does not fall under the purview of the Equal Opportunity and Title IX Office should be addressed to OCS.
