Peer Advisors

CBS Peer Advisors are an initial resource to help you with advising questions. Some of the topics Peer Advisors can help you with include:

  • How to declare second majors/minors
  • Navigating class registration
  • How to read your APAS report
  • How to make a Graduation Planner
  • Create a class schedule in Schedule Builder
  • Preparing forms to meet with your CBS advisor

Megan GlaitName: Megan Glait
Major: Neuroscience with minors in nutrition and psychology
Year: Junior
Advice to first-year self in CBS: Do not to over-stress about trying to figure everything out. It definitely just takes time to figure out the right majors and minors and future goals for you.


Kim JeongName: Kim Jeong
Major: Genetics, Cell Biology and Development
Year: Senior
Advice to first-year self in CBS: It's okay to give yourself time to transition to your new life here, explore things you never had the chance to before, and make sure you're doing something because you want to, not because someone else told you to.


Melissa Kruesel

Name: Melissa Kruesel
Major: Microbiology
Year: Senior
Advice to first-year self in CBS: Treat your classes like a 9-to-5 job. Get on campus early, study between classes, and leave around 5pm. By doing this, you'll ensure that you've at least had a few productive hours before settling in for the night.

Advice to first-year self in CBS: Take some time for yourself! Grades are important, but so are your college experiences so have fun once in a while!

Advice to first-year self in CBS: Keep on top of your classes and prioritize studying, but also remember that the time you're here is going to fly bye, so don't forget to make some friends and memories along the way!

Advice to first-year self in CBS: Take the time to explore your interests! Join a club or take a class that excites you, even if it's outside of your major.

Advice to first-year self in CBS: Take some random classes because they interest you! You may find a topic that you never thought you would be interested in or passionate about.

Advice to first-year self in CBS: Take your time! You have a lot of time to find opportunities and make connections, and the most fun parts of college go by really fast.

Advice to first-year self in CBS: Utilize the wide variety of resources available to students on campus. Office hours and tutor rooms are a great place to start if you're struggling academically.
