The College of Biological Sciences is excited to offer a new cohort of the CBS Dean’s Undergraduate Research Opportunities program. The CBS Dean’s Office will offer funding to approximately 25 students to conduct research during fall semester through this program, with a particular focus on supporting students with no previous research experience. Students with diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
Students selected to participate in this program will receive up to $4,200 ($15/hr) to support research work in faculty labs (or field-based research) for up to 20 hours per week for 14 weeks during fall semester. Preference will be given to rising seniors who have not previously held a research position (volunteer, paid, other). Work study is preferred but not required for this program. Applicants will write a statement of general interest that will be used to pair them with faculty mentors.
Applications for the fall cohort are due August 31. You can fill out the application through GopheResearch here (if you are not already signed into your UMN Google account, you will be prompted to do so). If you have questions, please contact the CBS Dean’s Office at email@example.com.
