Collaborative Healthcare Event

RSVP today for the Collaborative Healthcare Event on Wednesday, October 25 in the Mayo Building, room D199! At this event, pre-health students have the chance to come together, discuss and dissect a complex case health case study, and hear perspectives from the 5 health professional panelists. Dinner will be provided!

The panelists include faculty from our University of Minnesota Medical School, University of Minnesota School of Nursing, University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy, and University of Minnesota School of Public Health.

GRE Prep Workshop and Practice Test with The Princeton Review

Join CBS and The Princeton Review to learn more about the GRE! The Princeton Review will provide introduction to the exam and then some realistic timed practice, an in-depth discussion of a few questions, strategy and study tips, and some information about The Princeton Review GRE courses on Thursday, November 9. Then, on Saturday, November 11, take a free full-length GRE practice test sponsored by The Prince Review. You’ll receive your score, see what the actual test is like, and get an idea of where you can improve. Register for one or both events below!

Express Resume Drop-Ins  and Career Fair Tips

Need someone to take a quick look at your résumé? The CBS Career Team invites you to stop by their 15 minute express résumé review drop-ins. They can quickly review your résumé and give feedback and tips for navigating any upcoming career fairs you may be attending! Registration is not required.

CBS Employer Site Visit: BioTechne

Learn more about opportunities in the field of Biotechnology and join other CBS students and members of the career team on a visit to Bio-Techne. Bio-Techne offers a variety of internships and entry-level positions of interest to CBS students in the areas of cell culture, antibody, and protein development in addition to departments in stem cells, and sales. This is a great opportunity to learn about careers in the biological sciences and meet with CBS alumni working at Bio-Techne.

CBS Student Board Homecoming Tailgate

Join the College of Biological Sciences Student Board as they host their Homecoming Tailgate on Friday, October 20 from 4:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. on the MCB Lawn. Following the tailgate, students and faculty will be invited to march in the Homecoming Parade where they will celebrate and share CBS pride and spirit with the rest of the University! Pizza, cupcakes, and poster-making supplies will be provided before the parade.

Exploring Careers in Health Professions Panel

Interested in a health profession but not sure which profession? Attend this panel sponsored by EPPA to network and ask questions to health professionals including medical doctors, doctors of osteopathic medicine, and physician assistants. These health professionals will answer any questions you may have about what it’s really like to work in the health professions. Come and learn about the challenges and triumphs of their chosen career paths and hear advice they have to offer. Dinner will be provided. Registration is required.
