Summary of Position: The Voytas Lab at the University of Minnesota is seeking a Researcher 2 in plant molecular biology. Primary responsibilities include conducting research under the supervision of the Professor and Lab Manager and assisting with lab management duties. Researcher will assist graduate students and postdoctoral fellows with goals associated with federal grants. Researcher will be expected to interact with and communicate well with other members of the research team. Researcher will assist with supervising undergraduate laboratory assistants.
BS/BA in Plant Biology, Genetics, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or similar and 1year of full-time related experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience to equal at least five (5) years.
Molecular biology experience, including DNA analysis software.
Experience working with plants.
Apply knowledge and skill to a recurring task or activity with emphasis on precision and timeliness of execution.
Demonstrated ability to interact with others in a collaborative environment.
Experience with engineered nucleases such as TALENs or Cas9.
Plant tissue culture experience.
Experience designing and making DNA vectors.

Postdoctoral Associate position available
Summary of Position: The Voytas Lab at the University of Minnesota is seeking a postdoctoral associate that will use Plant Genome Engineering to alter photosynthetic pathways. The successful applicant will work with international collaborators to achieve gene targeting with an aim toward improving photosynthetic efficiency.
Applicants should have a PhD in plant biology, molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry, or a related field. Experience working with photosynthetic systems is preferred. The start date for this position is negotiable but can be as early as September 1, 2018. The position will be for one year terms that are renewed annually based on performance.
