Major: Ecology, Evolution, and Behavior (EEB)
Year: Senior

What's an impactful experience you've had as a student? Working as a peer mentor for the NOL@Itasca program allowed me to build unique connections with faculty and students while helping first-year students feel a sense of belonging within CBS. This role enabled me to form meaningful professional relationships and serve as a first point of contact for new students, providing guidance and fostering community that continued on campus.

How has your major played a role in your time at the U? As an EEB major, I’ve had some really powerful conversations with students regarding the types of research and field work that they can get involved in within CBS. The Itasca Biological Station and Laboratories provides a unique place for field research, and between my familiarity with the station and experience working with so many different faculty members, I feel better equipped to answer questions and help students find the experiences they're looking for.

What advice would you give to a student interested in getting involved in a similar experience? Put yourself out there and ask questions about the things you’re interested in – it will take you so far!
