Itasca Biological Station and Laboratories

Embark on an only-in-Minnesota learning experience this spring

Take field biology courses in the middle of Minnesota’s most iconic state park at Itasca Biological Station and laboratories.


Study ecology, ornithology, animal behavior and mammalogy in an incredible living laboratory of forests, bogs and lakes. When your not collecting water samples or tracking animals, you’ll have full access to all Itasca Biological Station and Laboratories has to offer like hiking, biking, kayaking and an excellent cafeteria to keep you fueled! Registration for University of Minnesota students starts March 1 and for everyone else March 8. Explore 2018 field biology course offerings. University of Minnesota students can also apply for scholarships to cover part or all of the cost of field biology courses at Itasca. Apply by February 23.
