The College of Biological Sciences graduate programs seek to support graduate students from diverse backgrounds in pursuit of research and academic excellence. Students are financially supported through:
- research assistantships from faculty advisors
- teaching assistantships
- fellowship stipends
- training grants
- travel grants
- professional development support
Assistantships and fellowships include a bi-weekly stipend and will cover your tuition and payment towards health insurance premiums. Funding for graduate students is primarily available through individual departments and academic programs. Please contact your graduate program coordinator or director of graduate studies for more information.
Graduate assistants (research, teaching, curatorial)
A system of graduate assistant employment provides graduate students with academic employment in teaching, research, and administrative appointments. Graduate assistantships include tuition benefits (with the exception of summer sessions/terms, when tuition is covered at the discretion of the hiring department or advisor) and health insurance benefits.
