Life before CBS…
I was an academic advisor with the School of Computing at the University of Georgia for almost 8 years.
Adjusting to college life…
I was extremely introverted in high school, so starting college at such a large university was intimidating. I worried about making new friends, but things turned out so much better than I was expecting. Meeting so many new people with varied backgrounds and interests outside of my own gave me the confidence to come out of my shell and become my most authentic self. I found community by joining the intramural swim team, saying 'yes' to as many campus events as I could, and exploring music in the local community. I quickly learned that getting involved is the easiest way to make a big school feel much smaller.
Favorite part of the job?
My favorite part of being an advisor is getting to know my students! I love listening to their stories, celebrating their accomplishments, and seeing their journey through college from start to finish.
Current passions, hobbies, things that give you joy?
In my spare time you can find me cooking, listening to records, playing music, video gaming, collecting houseplants that I may or may not be able to keep alive, or walking my dog, Sadie.
Be on the lookout for…
I have a plethora of personal catchphrases and unabashedly laugh at my own jokes.
