Education
I went to Minnesota State University Moorhead and earned a BA in Anthropology with an emphasis in Archaeology. I went on to pursue a M.S. in Counseling and Student Affairs at the same institution. Finally, I earned my PhD from George Mason University in Education, focusing on Higher Education. My dissertation examined what factors build trust between advisees and their advisor.
Life before CBS...
I was an advisor at Anoka-Ramsey Community College as well as the U in the College of Liberal Arts before taking on leadership roles at George Mason University as the Director of Advising for their College of Humanities and Social Sciences, and at St. Cloud State as the Director of Advising and Student Transitions.
Adjusting to college life
College is just a great time to get out of your comfort zone-try new things and meet new people who are different from you. I was really nervous as a new student to put myself out there but I made lifelong friends through just saying hi to folks as I passed them in the hallways of my residence halls and showing up to the events going on around campus.
