Research statement
I have a broad interest in community and ecosystem ecology, with a specific focus on investigating the fundamental associations between changes in ecosystem functioning and plant compositional shifts across spatial-temporal scales, such as biodiversity loss and biological homogenization, in response to climate and land-use changes.
My earlier works have centered around the interactions between rainfall variability, livestock grazing, plant community dynamics, and carbon cycling in grasslands in both Inner Mongolia and Arizona. Additionally, I use across-site datasets, such as LTER, NEON, and GGN, to synthesize the diversity-stability relationships in both aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems at multiple scales.
As a new Research Scientist at Cedar Creek, I will perform and publish the results of ecological research, as well as coordinate and lead ecosystem restoration and management efforts to strengthen and complement the mission of the Cedar Creek LTER program.
