Support the CBS Transfer Student Scholarship
Transfer students are the highest achievers among CBS’s student body, with a drive and work ethic that aligns with CBS’s learning-by-doing culture.
The College of Biological Sciences welcomes 60-65 transfer students every year from other higher education institutions, typically a two-year college. Currently, none of the college’s scholarship opportunities are available to these students. The College has a goal to increase transfer student support with the College of Biological Sciences (CBS) Transfer Student Scholarship. With your help, we can offer a generous scholarship to our bright and driven transfer students.
CBS transfer students have a higher rate of graduation and a higher GPA than the CBS student body as a whole. When they transfer to CBS, students are certain of what their major will be and how it will help launch their future academic or professional plans. Transfer students also bring greater diversity to the campus socioeconomically and ethnically. University-wide, over 42 percent of the transfer student population are the first in their family to attend college and over 37 percent are BIPOC students. Encouraging and welcoming these students enriches the college experience for everyone.
