This U of M veteran keeps things moving in the Dean's Office.
What is your job title?
Executive Assistant to the Dean
How long have you been at the University?
I have been working at the University for five and a half years, though I also completed my undergraduate and graduate degrees here so, in total, I've been on campus for about ten years!
You've been in a number of positions across the U of M. Where all have you worked?
Before joining CBS, I worked in the Office of Undergraduate Education in the College of Liberal Arts where I supported the First Year Experience program and the assistant dean for Undergraduate Education. In 2016, I moved to CBS Student Services and eventually joined the Dean's Office in September of last year. Throughout my time at the University I've been fortunate to work with so many great people, many of whom have become close friends and mentors.
Describe something fun or unusual about your role in the Dean's Office.
There are no two days that look the same in the Dean's Office and I really enjoy that. My previous roles at the University were really centered around the undergraduate experience, so moving to the Dean's Office has been such a fun and challenging opportunity to see the College from a broader perspective and continuously learn about the unique people, research and ideas that make CBS the great place that it is.
What do you like best or least about working in St. Paul?
The St. Paul campus is beautiful and has so many great outdoor areas to explore during a break or lunchtime walk (April-November), though I would certainly welcome more coffee options!
What do you like to do with your free time?
In my free time I enjoy reading, cooking, going to the gym, spending time outdoors and re-watching episodes of The Office and Parks and Recreation.
